All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi has announced that his party will contest the Uttar Pradesh by-elections in alliance with Apnadal-Kameravadi.
In an interview given to ANI, he said.. He also announced the sharing of seats in the alliance of both the parties. “We will contest this election with my sister Dr. Pallavi Patel (Apna Dal Cameravadi). He said that he will contest in two seats. Pallavi Patel will decide the rest of the seats. They announced that they will contest together in this by-election.
AIMIM is contesting two seats in the by-elections to be held on November 13 for nine of the ten vacant assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. On October 15, the Election Commission announced by-elections to 48 assembly constituencies, including 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh and the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formally requested the Election Commission to reschedule the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh from November 13 to November 20 to celebrate the Kartika Purnima festival.
Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal will hold by-elections.
