Cattle: Telugu moviegoers have not been able to experience the much expected entertainment this year. ‘Guntur Karam’ released on Sankranti was disappointing. Only ‘Kalki’ which was released after that was a huge success. Now, two months after ‘Kalki’, ‘Devara’ is gearing up for release. Despite the mixed response to the trailer, interest in ‘Devara’ has not waned at all. The film is soaring in advance bookings. Apart from Telugu states, Karnataka and US are also recording excellent pre-sales.
Can “Devara” Surpass “Kalki 2898 AD” Records
‘Devara’ is going to be screened in 95 percent theaters in Hyderabad this Friday. Multiplexes have also allotted majority shows to this film. Advance bookings are also going well. Against this background, ‘Devara’ has risen to the second position among the highest grossing films in Hyderabad through pre-sales. The film collected Rs.13 crore gross two days before its release. It overtook the second placed film ‘Salar’.

In this list ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ is at the top. ‘Devara’ may be difficult to meet that mark, but ‘Salar’, ‘RRR’, ‘Guntur Karam’ etc.T Skipping movies is no small matter. Despite the mixed response to the trailer, it’s great that the hype is sustained at this level. It seems that ‘Devara’ will create a sensation in the Day-1 openings as well. The movie is sure to be among the top-5 day-1 grossers in India.
