The movie ‘Satyam Sundaram’ starred Hero Karthi and Arvind Swamy in lead roles. Directed by C. Prem Kumar of ’96’ fame, this film is being produced by Surya and Jyothika under the banner of 2D Entertainment. How did the Satyam Sundaram project start? How is the story going to be?
This is director Prem Kumar’s next film after ’96’. A film coming from him after almost six years. My friend told me that Prem had a story for me two years ago. But he is afraid to tell me. I messaged myself. Then he gave me to read this script. I like K Viswanath’s movies. But now such stories are not coming. When I read this story, I felt that such a good movie would be made. A very rare script. This is a story that answers many of our questions. I told my elder brother to read the story. Brother liked it very much. He said that only you are getting such stories. They said they will definitely do it.
What was the core element of this story that appealed to you?
Unconditional love. We get unconditional love from family. This is a movie that shows such unconditional love. A story related to our culture and roots. Emotional content with a very good sense of humor. There will be happy tears in many places. There is a very beautiful emotion when you watch the movie Upiri.. What is the story of such a happy emotion? I was very surprised to know that such a story happened in the real life of Arvind Swamigari. He was born and brought up in the village. Arvind’s character in this movie cannot be imagined without him. Our character has a very good chemistry.
The reason why it comes a day earlier in Tamil than in Telugu?
Telugu has ‘Devara’. It’s a big movie. Our film better come later in the day. Two very different films. It is like a war. Ours is a movie like Seethamma Vakitlo.
What is your character like?
An innocent-like character who runs a shari shop in a small village. He has no expectations on life. Very talkative character. A very simple and beautiful character.
About Govind Vasant’s music?
Govind Vasant is a good composer. After hearing this story, he said that this film will challenge my talent. Every song is meaningful. The background music is haunting. Music takes us back to our childhood days.
How was it working with C.Prem Kumar?
He is a very planning director. Everything is kept ready. He is a director with great understanding. Wonderful words written. What kind of feeling I had when I read this story, I got the same feeling when I acted.
Is Surya involved in this project?
The elder brother does not get involved until the film is produced. One day, Rolex came to shoot at night. Everyone knew and people came. We took a break from shooting for a while and started again. Surya saw my first film and hogged me. Again, after seeing this movie, he hugged me very proudly. He gave a compliment that he performed brilliantly.
About Asian Suresh Entertainments release in Telugu?
