Directed by Arjun Sai, the film festival starring Prakash Raj, Dilip Prakash and Regina Cassandra in lead roles. Produced by Suresh Patil, this movie hit the screens today. Let’s go to the review and find out how much it pleased!

Story:

Abhimanyu Narayana (Prakash Raj), a popular artist in Surabhi Natak Mandali, lives by believing in plays without doing any job. His son Krishna (Dilip Prakash) accidentally falls in love with Rama (Regina Cassandra), daughter of another drama star Sahadev (Nazar). After some dramatic developments in this sequence, both Rama and Krishna fall in love. On the other hand, the elders decide to marry the two. However, they do not know that. After that, due to the drama in their love story, what kind of changes took place in the lives of Krishna and Rama? or ? That’s the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

There are some emotional moments and good messages in this ‘Utsavam’ movie which comes with the concept of bringing back the former glory to the dramas that are dying. Similarly, the director has designed a good love story around Surabhi’s plays. Especially the first half is all about the lives of the dramatists, what will happen if the dramas get their former glory? The scenes from the perspective are also good.

Coming to the performance of the actors… Dilip Prakash’s performance is good. He acted very well in the love story and family scenes. Also, Dilip Prakash has maintained his character well in terms of his looks and physique. Prakash Raj acted very well in another key role.Nazar and Brahmanandam were also impressive. Regina, who played the role of the heroine, also impressed in her role. Also, Rajendra Prasad, Ali, Brahmaji, LB Sriram, Jabardast Abhi and others are convincing in their roles. Director Arjun Sai’s performance is a highlight in some emotional and action scenes. Especially with the characters and dialogues in many plays.

Minus Points:

Most of the movie was plays, Daksha Yagnam play, dialogues in the plays, so the interest was lost. Moreover, those scenes also seem stretched. However, even though this festival movie is impressive at some places with mind-blowing emotional scenes, the lack of commercial elements and the feeling that the screenplay is moving too slowly are the minus points of the movie.

It would have been better if the director had made the first half of the story more interesting. In fact, although the emotions between the main characters are well established… it seems like a melodrama at some places. Similarly, gripping narration is missing in key scenes. Although the background is taken anew… some scenes are routine. The scene needs to be well established, like hero-heroine liking each other without knowing, and hanging out together without knowing that they are married.

Technical Department:

Although director Arjun Sai has taken a good plot, he is a bit behind in writing an equally exciting story. But, some of the drama and emotional scenes created by him are okay. Music director Anup Rubens has good music. The cinematography work is a special attraction of the movie itself. Producer Suresh Patil should be congratulated for believing in the director’s idea and producing such a realistic film. His production values are also very good.

Verdict:

The main content to be told in this emotional love drama called ‘Utsavam’ and some emotional scenes, especially the background of the plays, the drama is good for Taluk. Also, the acting of the actors is impressive. If not, slow narration, lack of interesting content in the first half, and complete lack of commercial elements are the minuses of the movie. Overall, the emotional elements in this film connect at some places.
