The Telangana High Court has issued a crucial verdict against party defecting MLAs. The High Court Bench has directed the Speaker’s Office to take a decision on the disqualification of MLAs who have switched parties within four weeks. In this order, BRS senior leader and former minister Harish Rao has recently made important comments. Harish Rao, who posted on the platform of X, said that he welcomes the verdict given by the Telangana High Court on the disqualification petition of the MLAs. He said that the verdict given by the High Court on the disqualification petitions of the MLAs is like a slap in the face to the undemocratic policies being implemented by the Congress party in Telangana. Former BRS Minister Harish Rao said that MLAs who have changed parties will be disqualified due to Telangana High Court’s verdict.
MLA and former Minister Harish Rao said that the Telangana High Court verdict upholds the spirit of democracy and the Constitution. He commented that MLAs who defected from the party after winning as MLAs were disqualified and by-elections were held in the respective constituencies. Josyam said that the BRS party will win in constituencies where by-elections are held due to disqualification. Former BRS Minister Harish Rao said that the state assembly speaker should take a decision in four weeks in accordance with the High Court’s verdict. Meanwhile, BRS has filed a petition in the High Court to disqualify Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, Bhadrachalam MLA Tellam Venkatarao and Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiam Srihari. After concluding arguments on this petition, the Telangana High Court directed the Speaker to take a decision on disqualification.
