The 70th National Film Awards have been announced by the central government a little while ago. The trend of southern films continued in these awards. In 2022, the films that impressed the audience immensely won awards in many categories. The list of awardees is as follows.

Best Director – Suraj (Unchai)
Best Choreographer – Johnny Master, Satish Krishnan
Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Pawan Raj Malhotra (Fauja)
Best Actress in a Supporting Role – Neena Gupta (Unchai)
Best Child Artist – Sripath (Mallikkapuram)
Best Playback Singer Male – Arjit Singh (Kesaria Song)
Best Playback Singer Female – Bombay Jayashree
Best Cinematography – Ravi Varma (Ponnian Selvan-1)
Best Music: Pritam (Brahmastra)
Best Background Music : AR Rahman (Ponniinselvan-1)
