Veeranjaneyulu Vihara Yatra, the first ever Telugu family road trip film. It was released directly on the ETV win OTT platform. Starring VK Naresh, Rag Mayur, Priya Vadlamani and comedy legend Brahmanandam, the film has created a lot of interest as the promotional images have entertained the audience. Has this film met the expectations that got a good hype? Or let’s go into the review.

Story:

The story revolves around Veeranjaneyu (Brahmanandam) who dreams of resting in the happy home he has built in Goa. Unfortunately, he died before his retirement. His son, Nageswara Rao (VK Naresh), a school teacher, plans to sell the house, which requires his family’s consent. This will be the reason to go on a family road trip to Goa. In this background some differences and personal problems come to the fore. But why does Nageswara Rao want to sell the house? Will he succeed? And how does this journey change the family? Answers to such questions are in the movie.

Plus Points:

The story of this film is very relatable to the middle class audience. It has real emotions and thoughtful dialogues. VK Naresh, as a father determined to keep his family together, shows various emotions effectively. Impressed with his performance.

Veteran comedian Sri Lakshmi also entertains in her role. Rag Mayur and Priya Vadlamani are adorable as siblings. The film has good comedy. The visuals of the movie are impressive.

Minus Points:

Although the concept is good, it has to be said that it is not executed properly. Although the starting is good, the story seems to drag on in the second half with unnecessary scenes.

The director misses his mark in mixing comedy and emotions well. He failed to capture more attractive scenes.

Characters like Rag Mayur, Priya Vadlamani, and Sri Lakshmi should have been presented well. Some scenes are still to be shown well, especially for the middle class audience.

The climax delivers a meaningful message, but by then, slow pacing and unnecessary romantic scenes reduce its impact.

Technical Department:

Director Anurag’s vision for a family drama is commendable. But it was not completely successful in implementing it. Cinematography by Ankur C is attractive, but editing by Naresh Adupa and Hari Shankar TN could have been even better. Music by RH Vikram is good. Production values don’t matter.

Verdict:

All in all, Veeranjaneyu Vihara Yatra has a good story idea. But the director was not successful in showing it as expected. The slow progress of the story and unnecessary scenes affected the outcome of the film. While the performances of VK Naresh and other actors are good, the lack of proper emotional depth makes the audience less likely to connect with the story.
