Shankar dream: Once Shankar’s name was the correct passport to film success in the South. He has given many successful films over the decades. Movies like Gentleman, Shivaji, Robot impressed the audience and established him as a star director. However, some of the films that followed did not achieve the expected success, which slowed down Shankar’s career. In such a case, there is a discussion in the film circles that Shankar’s dreams of making films with star heroes like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas have not come true.
Shankar dream collaborations with Telugu stars
Shankar, early in his career, discussed important issues in the society and shaped his films in such a way as to convey these to the audience. Gentleman gained recognition as the audience enjoyed the social message he wanted to convey through the movie. Shankar tried to work with heroes like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas, but the projects did not get set.
Some are of the opinion that when they thought of doing a project like the remake of 3 Idiots with Mahesh Babu and a big budget movie with Prabhas, those movies stopped midway and the story was not set. Shankar’s idea of making a film on student issues with Mahesh Babu and Prabhas’ intention to make a pan-Indian film is understandable.
But, all those movies were stopped midway at that time. Movie lovers and fans are still debating about this. There are already huge expectations on the movie Game Changer with Ram Charan. Fans are confident that Shankar will be able to regain his old achievements through this film. Although it is a bit sad that a great director like Shankar could not work with star heroes like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas, one can hope that these dreams can come true in the future. All in all, Shankar’s talent still has the potential to deliver many more great films to the southern film industry.
