One of the latest films released in theaters this week is the movie ‘Mufasa – The Lion King’, which is being eagerly awaited by the world wide audience. And let’s see in the review how this movie with the voice over of our Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu is and how much it entertained the audience.

Story:

Coming to the story… Mufasa and his parents (lions) live in a desolate area where not even a drop of rain has been seen in the vast areas of this earth. But Mufasaki wants to go to Milaele, a special place told by his mother lion. But once they arrive in their area, Mufasa is separated from his parents due to heavy rains and floods. So he went a long way from there and lost his way to another area, to the lions of the race. A young lion (Taka) is introduced there and takes Mufasa into his family. How did Mufasa’s journey progress from there? What were the challenges he faced? Did the race join Mufasa or not? What is the danger to them from another species of lions? Did Mufasa finally reach his destination or not? This movie is a journey of how he became a leader and how his best friend became Scar.

Plus Points:

It is known to everyone that there is a good craze for famous comics like The Lion King and Jungle Book from Disney. Out of these, the last movie The Lion King was a big hit. But this movie, which is a prequel to it, also has some entertaining elements.

Mainly, Mufasa’s journey will be interesting in the movie. The journey of his skills and how he became a leader feels decent in the movie. Also, many fight scenes with other lions are solid. Also, it must be said that the voice over given by superstar Mahesh Babu for the role of Mufasa Simham is a good plus.

The dialogues uttered by Mahesh to suit the scenes seem to be perfectly set for the Mufasa lion. Also, several comedy scenes on Timon and Pumbaa, dubbed by Brahmanandam and Alila, bring a little laugh. Also, the visuals in this movie, shot in live motion capture, look very grand and look beautiful and natural.

Minus Points:

In fact, this story may be many years old, but for those of us who have seen many movies in the current generation, it must be said that it seems very routine and regular. Also, this movie lacks the entertainment content of Lion King which came before this.

It would have been better if Timon and Pumbaa had added some fun scenes to the track. Also, along with Mahesh, young actor Satyadev also dubbed in this movie, but in Telugu, either the dubbing values are good or he changed the modulation, but in many scenes, it does not mean that this voice is his.

Also, it would have been better if the fight scenes were designed to be a little more aggressive and give high moments. It seems that the makers have missed the scope of thrilling the audience in many ways. Occasional songs in the movie also feel a bit boring.

Technical category:

There is no need to tell about the range of production values in Hollywood movies. Also, in the previous movie, very natural visuals were shown in the form of graphics, but now in the movie, in some scenes, the graphics work is not so natural. All other scenes are very beautiful. Also the music is good. The film is photo-realistic, so many visuals shown according to the vision of the director and cinematographer feel wow. Editing is fine. Telugu dubbing values are good.

When it comes to director Barry Jenkins… Mufasa – The Lion King story has been adapted well but it would have been better if it had been made more engaging. It would have been a packed entertainer if more entertaining elements had been added and the action moments had been presented more strongly.

Verdict:

Overall, it must be said that the film “Mufasa – The Lion King” which came amid good expectations, did not fully meet the expectations. Mahesh’s dubbing is a plus in the Telugu version, some grand visuals may be entertaining for children, but the story would have been entertaining and gripping. With these, it is better to try this film with very low expectations.
