Natural Star Nani’s Hit 3 may have wrapped up its theatrical run, but it’s far from done making waves. With Netflix announcing its digital premiere just a day before the release of Bhairavam, industry chatter has intensified around the impact this move could have on the latter’s box office performance.
Though Bhairavam doesn’t boast a top star like Nani, it marks the return of Nara Rohith, Manchu Manoj, and Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, giving it respectable buzz. Being a remake of the Tamil hit Garudan, the film blends emotionally charged storytelling with action-driven drama, appealing especially to mass audiences.
However, with Hit 3—an A-rated crime thriller—now easily accessible on OTT, family audiences who skipped it in theatres might choose to stay home and stream instead of heading to cinemas. This could potentially impact Bhairavam’s crucial first weekend footfalls, particularly if the latter doesn’t immediately capture attention with strong word-of-mouth.
With Aditi Shankar as the female lead and Vijay Kanakamedala at the helm, Bhairavam will now have to prove its strength through content and audience reception to overcome the stiff OTT distraction.
