Rana Naidu, the controversial and bold crime thriller series on Netflix, is all set to return with Season 2. The series, which premiered two years ago, brought real-life uncle-nephew duo Venkatesh Daggubati and Rana Daggubati together on screen for the first time. While the first season stirred controversy due to its bold and adult content, it also became one of the most-watched Indian web series on the OTT platform.
Season 2 Promises More Drama, Less Vulgarity?
The initial backlash—especially from Venky Mama’s family-friendly fan base—was intense, as audiences were surprised to see the veteran actor in a dark and gritty role. However, Venkatesh later clarified that the content in Season 2 would be toned down, and the story would focus more on the emotional depth and thriller aspects.
Streaming From June 13 on Netflix
The official teaser of Rana Naidu Season 2 has already been released, creating excitement among fans of gritty Indian web dramas. On May 22, Rana Daggubati himself confirmed the streaming date as June 13, 2025, via social media.
Season 2 will stream in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. This multilingual approach is expected to increase its pan-India appeal even further.
