The periodical web series Vikatkavi, for which he has composed music, is streaming on G5 from November 28 and is entertaining the audience. A special chit chat with music director Ajay Arasada on this occasion…

  • Background..?
  • Born and brought up in Vizag. I studied engineering at Geetam University. I worked as a software engineer in TCS from 2011 to 2018. After quitting my job, I entered the film industry. In this process, I got very good support from my family.
  • Why interest in music?
  • Aunts and elder sister used to play veena in our house. I used to observe it since childhood. That’s how the interest is increasing. I learned music by observing closely. I wanted to learn guitar first. So I learned the basics from Sharat Master for two and a half months. Later I started learning to play on my own. After joining engineering in Geetam University, it seems that I got a bit more time. In some cases, I used to beat colleges. He got a little grip on music due to traveling with music bands there.
  • How did you enter the film industry?
  • From 2011 to 2018, I used to work for short films while working as a software engineer. Doing this gave me good practice. In this sequence, Pradeep Advait introduced me to the director of Jagannatakam, Pradeep. After listening to a thirty second music bit that I had done earlier, they gave me a chance in Jagannathakam movie. That was my first step into the film industry. Later I used to work independently. At that time my childhood friend.. music director Sricharan Pakala asked me to work for the key board programming in the movie Gudhachari. After that I worked for the movies Ksheera Sagara Mathanam, Nede Vidudala, Missing and Sriranganeethulu. Along with movies, I have composed music for the web series Save the Tigers season 1 and season 2. Recently I worked for Vikatkavi series.
  • How did you get the opportunity in the movie Ai?
  • Producer Bunnyvasgari heard a BGM bit in the movie Missing that I had composed music for and liked it. When he came to an event related to that movie, the two got to know each other. On that occasion, Bunnyvasgaru said that let’s work together. Just like that, he was offered an opportunity to work in Ai’s film. But first, Bannivas said that they will give music for an item song along with the Ram Bhajan song in Ammala. I also composed those two songs. They liked them very much. He said to do the BGM work along with the rest of the songs. So I worked for the movie Ai. It is not common to do BGM for a comedy movie like Ai. But when the movie became a hit, I forgot all the hard work.
  • Periodic series unique working experience ?
  • Director Pradeep Maddali is very clear about what he wants. That’s why I didn’t struggle much while working on Vikatkavi series. Directors are my teachers. Therefore, the director Pradeep Maddali is giving the desired output. While working for the movie Ai, I did music for three episodes of Vikatakavi series. After the release of Ai, I completed three more episodes. Working alone is a different experience. I am a director’s technician.. my priority is to give them the output they want.. I am ready to make music for any genre movie or serial.
  • Who is your inspiring music director?
  • I like Devisree Prasad.
  • Next projects?
  • Currently working on Three Roses Season 2 and two more web series on Aha. Some movies are being discussed. I will let you know their details soon.
