2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53: Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 in India, with prices starting at Rs. 1.45 crore for the standard Performance Edition, while the Racing Edition is priced at Rs. 1.48 crore. This performance sedan made its global debut in 2024 and brings significant mechanical and styling upgrades over the regular E-Class.
Powering the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol engine paired with a plug-in hybrid system. The engine and electric motor together produce 585 HP and 750 Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox and 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive. Mercedes-Benz claims a 0-100 km/hr time of 4.0 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/hr. The Racing Edition, with the AMG Driver’s Package, increases the top speed to 280 km/hr.
The plug-in hybrid battery of the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 offers a DC fast charging capability, with a 10-80% charge in about 20 minutes using a 60 kW charger, or 2.25 hours with an 11 kW AC charger. The car provides an electric-only driving range of up to 100 km. Performance upgrades over the standard E-Class include an electronically controlled rear limited-slip differential, AMG-tuned air suspension, rear-axle steering, and a high-performance braking system.
The exterior features the signature Panamericana grille, redesigned bumper with larger air intakes, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin gets AMG-specific detailing like a performance steering wheel, sports seats with heating, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 14.4-inch central infotainment screen. Equipment includes a Burmester sound system, head-up display, and safety features like a 360-degree camera and tire pressure monitoring. The 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 offers a compelling blend of luxury, performance, and hybrid efficiency in India.
