Thammineni Seetaram: YCP land fraud case impact? The ongoing legal proceedings against the family of senior YCP leader and former Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram have stirred a major political controversy in Andhra Pradesh.
The Srikakulam Rural Police registered a land grab case following a complaint that Tammineni’s family attempted to sell a property worth around four crores using forged documents. The land in Balaga area of Amudalavala mandal was purchased under the name of their son Chiranjeevi Nag from a woman named Adbala Rajani from Odisha. However, the real owner, Andhavarapu Govindarajulu, had no knowledge of the transaction. The accused allegedly created a fake death certificate to declare Govindarajulu dead and fabricated legal IDs for Rajni from Odisha as his heir.
An interesting twist emerged when Govindarajulu’s actual daughter, Andhavarapu Rajani, discovered the scam during the construction of a compound wall. She alerted the revenue officers about the forged documents and fake succession records. A detailed investigation by the revenue team led to a police case against 13 individuals, with the Tammineni family named as the main accused.
This Thammineni family land fraud case is now a hot topic in political circles, especially given that the alleged fraud occurred while the YCP government was in power. The arrest of middlemen has added further scrutiny, raising questions about the party’s image and its leadership’s integrity.
