Siddharth Opens Up on Film Choices, Toxic Masculinity, and Career at Hyderabad Literary Festival

Actor Siddharth, known for his outspoken nature, recently made headlines with his candid statements at the Hyderabad Literary Festival. Invited to discuss his film Chithha, he addressed various aspects of his career, including his choice of films, societal issues, and the industry’s portrayal of masculinity.

While praising Chithha and its message, renowned singer Vidya Rao asked him about his decision to take up the project. Siddharth responded that he could have opted for more commercially viable films, but he chose Chithha because it was a story about a child. He added that if the film had focused on themes like justice or vendetta, it could have earned 15 times more profit than it did.

Speaking on toxic masculinity in cinema, Siddharth revealed that he rejected scripts where he was required to slap women or perform in item songs, saying, “Of course, I may have been a far bigger movie star today if I had chosen differently. But I instinctively did what I liked.” He emphasized that his satisfaction in cinema cannot be measured in monetary terms, prioritizing meaningful storytelling over commercial success.

Up next, Siddharth will be seen in Test, a Tamil romantic drama starring Nayanthara and R. Madhavan. Fans are eager to see what the talented actor brings to the screen next. Stay tuned for more updates! 🚀
