The victim, identified as Srinivas (45), was irrigating his field in Bairapur village of Birkur mandal on Thursday afternoon when he accidentally came into contact with a live power line near the farm embankment.
Srinivas died on the spot due to the severity of the electric shock. A shepherd who witnessed the farmer electrocution immediately alerted the victim’s family members. Upon receiving the news, local police, led by SSI Ramulu, arrived at the scene and examined the body. The remains were then taken to Bansuwada Government Hospital for postmortem.
In response to this farmer electrocution case, the police have registered a case and launched an investigation based on a complaint from the deceased’s family. Authorities are also checking for any faults in the power supply that may have contributed to the tragedy. The incident has created a sense of sorrow and urgency in the locality.
