MG Starlight: New Hybrid & Electric SUV Coming 2026 is the latest model planned by JSW MG Motor India for the domestic market. The carmaker will unveil this new energy vehicle on July 16, 2026, as part of a five-year lineup that includes ICE, electric, and plug-in hybrid models. The upcoming MG Starlight is expected to be a rebadged version of the Wuling Starlight 560, already on sale in China with both powertrains.

The MG Starlight hybrid variant will feature a 1.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 197bhp electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery pack, delivering a combined output of 197bhp and 230Nm. It offers an EV-only range of 100km and a total combined range of 1,100km. The pure EV version will use a 136bhp single permanent magnet synchronous motor with a 56.7kWh battery pack, offering a 500km range and a top speed of 160kmph. It takes 20 minutes to charge via a DC fast charger.

In terms of size, the MG Starlight is expected to measure 4,745mm in length, 1,850mm in width, and 1,755mm in height, with a 2,810mm wheelbase and 763 litres of boot space. It could be offered in both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations. Likely features include a 12.8-inch touchscreen, 8.8-inch digital driver display, 6-speaker audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, regenerative braking, and multiple airbags.

The MG Starlight positions itself as a versatile and eco-friendly option for Indian buyers. With its plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains, it aims to cater to various driving needs while offering advanced features and spacious interiors. This launch marks another step in MG’s commitment to expanding its electrified portfolio in India.
