Nissan Tekton: Creta rival with ADAS and turbo engines is set to make its India debut tomorrow, July 9, 2026. Following the discontinuation of the Kicks, this marks Nissan’s second attempt to enter the highly-competitive midsize SUV segment. The Nissan Tekton is essentially a derivative of the third-generation Renault Duster, featuring a new design language inspired by the flagship Patrol SUV.
The Nissan Tekton will offer two turbo-petrol engine options similar to the Duster. These include a 1.0-litre unit producing 100bhp and 166Nm, and a 1.3-litre direct-injection motor delivering 163bhp and 280Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, while a 6-speed DCT automatic is exclusive to the 1.3L petrol. Renault’s 1.8L strong hybrid powertrain remains exclusive to the Duster.
The front fascia of the Nissan Tekton is heavily inspired by the Patrol, featuring a wide grille with chrome strips, connected LED DRLs, and a dual-tone bumper. The side profile shares similarity with the Duster, with bold shoulder creases and pronounced wheel arches. The interior is expected to mirror the Duster’s layout, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS.
Priced between Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 18.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Nissan Tekton will compete with the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and others. With its Patrol-inspired styling and advanced features, it aims to make a strong impact in this popular segment.
