Oh..! Sukumari: Director Accuses 2026 Hit of Copying

Oh..! Sukumari: Director Accuses 2026 Hit of Copying Scenes, Forcing Major Rewrite. The upcoming rural romantic entertainer Oh..! Sukumari, starring Thiru Veer and Aishwarya Rajesh, is at the center of a controversy. Director Bharat Dharshan has alleged that a popular 2026 Sankranthi film copied key scenes from his script, forcing him to rewrite half of Oh..! Sukumari.

In an interview, Bharat Dharshan revealed that he had shared the story outline of Oh..! Sukumari with another director, whom he refers to as “Anna.” He was shocked to see many of his original scenes, including one-liners and character arcs, appear in a 2026 Sankranthi hit film. Notably, that director received a “Special Thanks” credit in Oh..! Sukumari. “Fifty percent of my shoot was complete by then. I felt very sad,” he said.

The director explained that he had to approach his producer to rewrite the hero’s character arc and conclusion for Oh..! Sukumari. He also mentioned that the hero of that copied film had received a bound script beforehand. While he did not name the film or individuals, his comments have sparked widespread debate. He urged upcoming filmmakers to protect their scripts.

Produced by Maheswara Reddy Mooli under Gangaa Entertainments, Oh..! Sukumari releases on July 17. This is Bharat Dharshan’s debut directorial venture. The film promises lively rural romance, but the controversy adds intrigue. Netizens are now speculating which 2026 Sankranthi hit copied from Oh..! Sukumari, making it a talking point ahead of its release.
