One Nation One Election: Modi Gov’t Delimitation Bills Set for July

One Nation One Election: Modi Gov’t Delimitation Bills Set for July. The central government is gearing up to introduce key bills in the monsoon session of Parliament, beginning July 20, to advance the One Nation One Election initiative. The final steps involve implementing elections, delimitation, and women’s reservation, with the BJP strategizing to pass the Women’s Reservation-Delimitation Bill that previously stalled.

Political analysts view these bills as a milestone for the Modi 4.0 government. A 39-member committee, led by PP Chaudhary, has refined the final report for the phased rollout of One Nation One Election. The Centre has directed that Joint Parliamentary Committee reports be submitted during these sessions to ensure smooth progress.

The BJP’s strength in both Houses has grown, boosted by support from Shiv Sena’s Thackeray faction and TIC. However, the party is making last-ditch efforts to secure numerical backing, as opposition parties firmly resist the delimitation bill. BJP leaders remain confident of its approval, despite the challenges.

The introduction of bills for One Nation One Election is set to spark fresh debate in national politics. By linking sensitive issues like women’s reservation and delimitation, the Centre aims to solidify its strategy. The passage of these bills will be closely watched, marking a critical test for the government’s agenda.
