Upcoming Hyundai SUVs: 4 New Models Coming by 2027

Upcoming Hyundai SUVs: Hyundai Motor India has announced an ambitious plan to launch 26 new models across ICE, hybrid, and EV segments by 2030. Among these, four new SUVs are slated for release by 2027, highlighting the company’s strong focus on the SUV segment. This strategy marks Hyundai’s entry into the MPV and off-road SUV segments.

The upcoming Hyundai SUVs lineup includes a Bayon-based model, the next-generation Creta, a premium three-row SUV codenamed Ni1i, and a sub-4 meter electric SUV codenamed HE1i. The Bayon-based SUV will sit above the Venue and below the Creta, directly targeting the Maruti Victoris. It will debut a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, more compact and frugal than the Creta’s 1.5L unit.

The next-gen Creta will be longer, wider, and more spacious, with radical design changes, a premium interior, and a strong hybrid powertrain, marking the debut of Hyundai’s Pleos Connect system. The Hyundai Ni1i 7-seater SUV, based on the long-wheelbase Tucson sold in China, will be produced at the Talegaon facility. It will share its strong hybrid powertrain with the new Creta.

The micro electric SUV, expected to arrive during the 2026 Diwali season or early next year, will compete with the Tata Punch EV. Spy shots reveal an upright stance and boxy proportions, with likely battery packs from the Hyundai Inster EV. These upcoming Hyundai SUVs aim to strengthen Hyundai’s midsize SUV presence, targeting diverse customer needs from urban commuters to family off-roaders.
