Actor reveals why he suddenly took up direction: Vishal’s Magudam directorial debut has become a hot topic in Tamil cinema. Kollywood star Vishal surprised everyone by stepping in to direct his upcoming film, Magudam, also known as Makutam. The project was initially set to be directed by Ravi Arasu, but he is no longer involved in helming the film. In a recent interview, the actor explained the unexpected change, revealing that he had to step up due to negativity surrounding the project.
Vishal opened up about his directorial debut with Magudam, stating, “Magudam is not supposed to be directed by me. There was negativity, and I had to push it away. So, I took the responsibility. I revamped the entire screenplay. I still gave credit to Ravi Arasu for the story and paid him the remuneration. I am the 45th debut director to be introduced under Super Good Films. I am fine-tuning every scene, so this is my best directorial debut. I cannot say that my second film will be the best.” The actor’s candid remarks highlight his commitment to delivering a quality product despite the challenges.
Magudam features a strong cast, including Dushara Vijayan, Anjali, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Music for the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, adding to the anticipation. Vishal’s hands-on approach, from rewriting the screenplay to directing every scene, promises a fresh experience for audiences. The film is scheduled to hit the big screens in July 2026, with the exact release date to be announced soon.
In conclusion, Vishal’s Magudam directorial debut marks a significant turn in his career, driven by his determination to overcome obstacles. Fans await his vision on screen, and with July 2026 set as the release window, excitement continues to build for this ambitious project.
