Tata Sierra EV Base Variant: 65kWh Battery, Launch June 30. Tata Motors will introduce the Sierra EV to the Indian market on June 30, with new details emerging ahead of its debut. The entry-level Pure variant is expected to feature a 65kWh battery pack, while higher-spec all-wheel-drive versions may utilize a larger 75kWh battery. This information comes from dealer-level sources.

The 65kWh battery, already used in the Harrier EV, powers a rear-wheel-drive setup producing 238 BHP and 315 Nm of torque. Tata is likely to carry over this configuration for the Sierra EV, offering a claimed MIDC range of 538 km. The larger 75kWh battery pack is reserved for dual-motor QWD variants, combining front and rear motors for a total torque of 504 Nm and a claimed MIDC range of up to 622 km.

Charging options are expected to mirror those of the Harrier EV, including a standard 3.3kW AC charger and a faster 7.2kW AC charger on select variants. The Sierra EV represents Tata Motors’ eighth electric vehicle for India and is one of its most anticipated launches, evolving through multiple concept iterations over the years. Design and dimensions will remain similar to the ICE-powered Sierra.

Expected pricing for the Tata Sierra EV Base Variant: 65kWh Battery, Launch June 30, is between Rs. 20 lakhs and Rs. 25 lakhs (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will compete with SUVs like the Maruti e Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Mahindra XEV 9e. The Sierra EV marks a significant step for Tata’s electric lineup.
