With the five-match series tied at 1-1, the Boxing Day Test became crucial. Both the teams are looking to win this test and take the lead in the series. In this background, the Australian and Indian teams are entering the ring with strong teams. Aussies announced their final squad for the Boxing Day Test. 19-year-old Sam gave Kantsas a chance.
The Australian management made two changes for the Boxing Day Test. Opener Nathan McSweeney was replaced by youngster Sam Kantsas. Scott Boland has been brought in as the third main pacer in place of star pacer Josh Hazlewood who missed the series due to injury. It is known that Boland played the second Test. Hazlewood was injured and missed the third Test. Dangerous batter Travis Head passed the fitness test and got a place in the final team.
Sam Kantsas played for the Prime Minister’s XI in the warm-up match against India. He scored 107 runs in 97 balls. He scored a century against bowlers like Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja. He will open the innings along with Usman Khawaja for Australia in the Boxing Day Test. It remains to be seen how Kansas will play if McSweeney fails.
