Hyderabad Lakes Protection Initiative: HYDRA has taken a decision to receive complaints from people about encroachment of ponds, ponds and parks in Hyderabad. The main objective of this initiative is to involve people in the protection of government assets. HYDRA has announced that special arrangements will be made every Monday from January 2025 for people to use Buddha Bhavan as a place to air their problems and grievances. As a part of this, it is said that there will be an opportunity for anyone to complain about encroachment of ponds, canals and parks.

HYDRA has given special attention to the conservation of ponds within Greater Hyderabad. The encroached ponds in the city are being inspected and measures are being taken to keep them safe. Recently, while inspecting the Turka pond in Nizampet of Medchal district, the locals complained to HYDRA about the problems caused due to pollution and encroachment. With this, Hydra Commissioner Ranganath is expected to re-examine the situation there and resolve the issue quickly.

Also, it has been decided to take it as a pilot project to develop Errakunta Pond in Bachupally. Through this project measures will be taken to improve pond conservation, water conservation and sanitation. It is hoped that they will not only educate people but also promote a healthy environment.
According to Hydra Commissioner Rangnath, 61 percent of the ponds in Hyderabad are now damaged. This is a very painful thing. It is our responsibility to protect the remaining ponds. The urbanization class in the country is very high in Telangana, due to which this problem is further exacerbated. These actions are to be done smoothly to protect the environment and water resources for a better future.
