The unlawful arrests of farmers throughout the state infuriated BRS Working President KTR. He criticized the arrest of nonviolent “Chalo Prajabhavan” marchers demanding the agricultural debt relief pledge. KTR called the police’s unwarranted arrest of farmers and union leaders as criminals or terrorists appalling.

KTR said that authorities had unlawfully detained farmers and their leaders at police stations since Wednesday night. He said he heard police will visit farmers’ houses on Thursday morning to hold them, which was undemocratic. He requested that the government immediately stop such actions and free all detained farmers.

KTR noted that the arbitrary arrests of farmers’ families caused great stress. The speaker questioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s fear of farmers and accused him of breaching his commitment to waive ₹2 lakh in agricultural debts. He said farmers were revolting because they were duped.

KTR warned that this cross-party farmers’ movement will continue. He highlighted that the Congress government’s hollow promises would finally succumb to the organized might of the farmers as they fought for their rights.
