The latest movie “The Greatest of All Time” directed by director Venkat Prabhu with Meenakshi Chaudhary as Tamil star hero Dalapathy Vijay and Sneha as heroine has been released amid good expectations. Let’s see the review of this film which was released in Tamil and Telugu as well.

Story:

Coming to the story…Gandhi (Vijay Joseph) is secretly working in the special anti-terrorist squad on behalf of India. But on a mission in Kenya with his friends in an operation, the famous mafia Don Menon (Mike Mohan) gets involved. But after that he goes on a trip to another country with his wife Anu (Sneha) and son Jeevan on another mission. And what happened there? What will happen to his son Jeevan? What will his son do when he grows up? How do the two become father and son enemies? To finally know how the story of Jeevan (Junior Vijay) ends, you have to watch this movie.

Plus Points:

It must be said that Dalapathy Vijay was a good highlight in this film. We have seen his trademark swag and heroism in many movies but we can say that he surprises beyond that in this movie. It must be said that Dalapati Vijay is especially in the negative shade. Also, Prabhu Deva, Jayam Ravi and Prashant who appeared with him were perfectly set in their roles and impressed.

Also, Sneha gave a decent performance in her role. And Meenakshi Chaudhary did well in her key scenes including her glamor show. It is good to take the second half decently in this film. There are good high moments here and there, Vijay’s marked dialogues and in the climax the scenes shown highlighting Vijay’s roles with the Chennai Mumbai match commentary will give the fans a feast. Also some twists seem to be okay.

Minus Points:

And this movie is another week work from Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu in recent times. As the length of the film is very long, most of the film feels stretched. Also the first off story is not that engaging. Some movies are remembered while watching the movie, but after watching the post-climax, those who have seen the Hollywood movie Gemini Man will be more disappointed.

Earlier there were comments that there was a link with this movie. By showing exactly this, the audience was watered down. And for those who haven’t seen that movie, it might feel a little new, but this is not that exciting either. Also there are some over scenes in the movie. Sounds silly and irritating without logic.

In addition to this, Meenakshi Chaudhary does not have much importance in the film and it should be said that she was only taken nominally. And many scenes feel predictable. Also the post climax portion is disappointing for those who have seen Gemini Man.

Technical category:

The production values in this film are very good in some respects. It should be said that some aspects are weak. Technically, Vijay’s de-aging look is impressive. The team showed Vijay’s scenes well in the young look. And in some scenes, the background VFX work looks very weak. Yuvan’s songs are very average but he elevates some scenes with his score. The cinematography is good in this movie. Editing should be better.

And when it comes to director Venkat Prabhu.. movie lovers who have minimal idea about his movies want something new. But this movie misses it. Nicely, he stole the Gemini Man concept of Hollywood movie and changed it with fan stuff here and there to suit Vijay. It must be said that his direction is weak compared to previous films, except in some aspects.

Verdict:

Overall, it must be said that Vijay will do well in this “The Greatest of All Time” movie. Mainly, his fans are excited to see him in a negative role. Also some moments feel okay but not anywhere in the range of feeling wow. The story which seems to be overstretched and the screenplay which is predictable at many places disappoints. Those expecting something new from Venkat Prabhu may be disappointed. But with these, the film doesn’t feel that great.
