Congress government is cheating farmers and waiving loans: KTR

BRS Working President KTR once again fired on the Telangana Congress government. He alleged that the government has cheated in the matter of the money being deposited in the accounts as farmer loan waiver. KTR said that Rs.7 thousand crores have been diverted from the funds to be given in the month of June under Rythubandhu for loan waiver. BRS working president and ex-minister KTR criticized the Congress government for saying that they are waiving off some amount from the money of Rythu Bandhu, which is rightful.

Also, former minister KTR expressed his anger that the Congress government is doing injustice in selecting farmers for loan waiver. He pointed out that if farmers take loans of up to Rs.40 lakh, only 11 lakh people will be selected. KTR questioned the government that compared to the loan waiver by KCR government in 2014 and 2018, only a quarter of the farmers were declared eligible. He reminded that in 2014 alone, the KCR government spent Rs. 16,144 crores to waive off loans of less than one lakh. He said that 35 lakh farmers have benefited. And in 2018, there are 37 lakh farmers who got loan waiver under Rs. Then KTR reminded that his government released Rs.19,198 crores for loan waiver. But the Congress government has now single-handedly removed many people from the farmer loan waiver list. BRS Working President KTR demanded immediate release of crop loans up to Rs.2 lakhs. Also, KTR warned the state government to provide loan waiver to every eligible farmer.
