The kick of winning Player of the Match award is overwhelming as it will be given to those who show outstanding performance among 22 players who play the game. It’s an award given to a batsman or a bowler who has displayed amazing game changing performance and it can be given to a player even from the losing side. 

Many players have won this coveted award all through the years but it’s Sachin Tendulkar who gets top honours for being the player who won maximum number of Player of the Match awards. Sachin played 664 matches including test matches, ODIs and T20s and won 76 Player of the Match awards which no other player has achieved till now.

Second comes the Sri Lankan allrounder Sanath Jayasuriya who played 586 matches and won 58 Player of the Match awards. Virat Kohli is in third place with 57 Player of the Match awards in 436 matches with Jacques Kallis of South Africa also shares the same spot with equal number of Player of the Match awards. Kallis has achieved this in 519 matches whereas Kumar Sangakkara is in next place with 50 Man of the Match titles in 594 matches.
