BJP which used to be at the loggerheads with all regional parties has changed its stance suddenly in the wake of opposition it has been receiving nation wide. So there was a change in the strategy towards regional parties as a result BJP who used to keep the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy at a distance has developed a soft corner for him.
The debacle in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu elections resulted in lot of self introspection among the party high command of BJP. The threat of Sharad Powar who is leading a front against BJP with the support of the political analyst Prashant Kishore has made BJP realize its mistakes and started wooing the regional parties to garner their support. In addition, the neutral stand of Jagan Mohan Reddy and his undercurrent support to BJP while passing some of the bills in Parliament have made him further closer to the ruling party.
If everything goes well, three ministerial berths are also being allotted to YSRCP and this will go a long way in father strengthening the ties between Jagan Mohan Reddy and Narendra Modi. We have to wait and see how long this friendship lasts and what the people of Andhra Pradesh are going to get out of this under blanket alliance.
