IPL 2021 : Match between RCB and KKR postponed due to Covid-19

In an unfortunate development, the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers, Bangalore in IPL 2021 scheduled today at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad has got postponed. This is due to the testing of Covid positive for two of the players of KKR, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier.

Some more players of the KKR franchisee too are reported to be sick and the whole team is now under self isolation as a result the franchisee has expressed their inability to take part in today’s match.

Even the RCB team too has responded positively and accepted for the postponement of this match according to the latest reports. The IPL committee needs to look into this matter very seriously as it may endanger the health of other players too and continuing the IPL amidst health issues is not a good sign. In view of the T20 World Cup scheduled in October and November, its imperative that health of all the players participating in the IPL tournament is topmost priority and hope that BCCI and IPL committee will come out with a proper solution soon to end this health crisis.
