The change of captaincy could not change the fate of Sunrisers, Hyderabad as they suffered another thrashing at the hands of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
Joss Buttler lead the Rajasthan Royals batting with a brilliant ton (124, 64b, 11×4, 8×6) with Sanju Samson providing the able support with a well made 48 off 33 balls. The 150 run partnership between Buttler and Samson enabled RR to amass the total of 220/3. None of the bowlers of SRH could make any impression with the exception of Rashid Khan.
Manish Pandey and Jonny Bairstow opened the innings for SRH facing the daunting task of chasing 221 for victory. As usual, except the openers, none of the batsmen failed to tackle the bowling attack of Royals. Vijay Shankar though promoted in batting order failed for umpteenth time, Samad, Nabi, and Kedar Jhadav failed miserably in the chase losing the match by a huge margin.
Many loopholes in the bowling and batting of SRH were exposed once again and inclusion of Nabi above Jason Roy is a blunder and not able to strengthen the middle order despite several glaring mishaps remain as the biggest drawback for SRH. Instead of correcting these lapses, making David Warner as a scapegoat is not going to give the positive results.
