Mamata and Stalin emerge winners in exit polls

The exit polls for five State assemblies whose elections were concluded with last phase in West Bengal coming to an end today were out today at 7 p.m.

The exit poll results for Assam from Axis-My India indicate that BJP is going to win 75-85 and Congress 40-50 seats in this 126 seat assembly. The agency, Today’s Chanakya indicate 61-79 to BJP and 47-65 seats to Congress and CNX put it at 74-85 to BJP and 40-50 to Congress in Assam.

In Kerala, Axis-My India exit polls gave LDF 104-120 whereas UDF gets 20-30 seats out of total 126 seats. CNX too goes the same way as above in Kerala with BJP not seen anywhere in the scene.

In Tamil Nadu where elections were held for 234 assembly constituencies, it’s DMK which is going to come to power as all the exit polls indicate land sliding majority for Stalin lead DMK party and it’s ready to win nearly 160-170 seats.

West Bengal which has witnessed high voltage campaign war between TMC and BJP once again voted in favour of TMC according to the exit polls with 130-160 seats in the 294 strong West Bengal assembly going in favour of TMC. Though there is some improvement in BJP’s tally, it may not be sufficient to form the government. So it’s going to be Mamata Banerjee who is going to be the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third consecutive term.

Puducherry where there are 30 assembly seats, the saffron flag is going to fly with the exit polls giving BJP a clear edge with16-20 seats while Congress has to be contented with 10-13 seats.

The final results of these five State assemblies will be declared on May 2.
