Indian bowlers had another tough day in field on second day of first test against England today. At the stumps, England were 555/8 with Joe Root scoring a double hundred and Ben Stokes chipping in with 82 runs. Washington Sundar went wicket less whereas Ishant and Nadeem claimed 2 wickets each with Ashwin taking a wicket out of 5 wickets that have fallen today.
All have anticipated that England would declare their innings after reaching the total of 500 but surprisingly England batted throughout the day and there is a likely chance of declaration tomorrow morning after adding another 50 to 60 runs if they are not losing more wickets.
Indian batsmen have to apply themselves as the M.A.Chidambaram pitch is showing some signs of wear off and odd ball spinning and keeping low. A lot depends on Rohit and Virat as big scores are expected from them with Jofra Archer posing some kind of threat with his accurate bowling.
