Tandav the latest Hindi web series featuring Saif Ali Khan which is streaming now on Amazon Prime has landed up in trouble. Following the complaint made by BJP MP Manoj Kotak, Information and Broadcasting Ministry has intervened and sought clarification from the makers of Tandav and Amazon Prime, the streaming platform.
In a letter sent to Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, Kotak mentioned that ‘it seems that makers of Tandav have deliberately mocked Hindu Gods and disrespected Hindu sentiments’ he added in his letter dated January 16.
Meanwhile, Ram Kadam another BJP MLA from Ghatkopar West has demanded that the portions in which Lord Shiva was ridiculed should be removed from Tandav. He also made a complaint at the suburban Ghatkopar police station in this connection.
Tandav is created and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar based on the story written by Gourav Solanki who is quite popular for his Article 15. Tandav also stars Dimple Kapadia, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sunil Grover, Dino Morea, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Kumud Mishra, Gauhar Khan, and Kritika Kamra in important roles. Its a political thriller based on various conspiracies and back stabbings among power mongers whose ultimate aim is to reach the highest echelons of power.
The makers of Tandav are yet to respond to the complaint and their reaction is awaited.
